Tingko Beach is characterised as an extensive stretch of arcing shoreline, more than a mile (1,600 m) long with very white sand and crystal clear water fringed with coconut palm groves and limestone cliffs. A few feet from the shore the seafloor gradually plunges down to a depth of several feet below the surface.
The beach can be crowded during weekends where locals and city folks, and occasionally foreigners, flock to enjoy the beautiful sand, sea and sun. Dahil sa natatanging lokasyon nito, ang pagiging isang arcing shoreline on a lagoon, ang buhangin sa timog na dulo ng beach ay nagbabago sa hilaga sa panahon ng northeast winter monsoon season, sometime between late September at unang bahagi ng Disyembre, thereby emptying the sand completely and exposing the rocky bed of stone.
Alcoy Tingko Beach Resort during the Holy Week
The beach is hidden from the sight of the road as it is situated below a low limestone cliff.
Sa isang promontory ng ilang metro na lampas sa hilagang maabot ng Tingko Beach ay nakatayo ang mga siglo na itinayo ng Bantayan sa Hari (watchtower). This pretty little beach in Alcoy in southern Cebu is a popular place for locals. In the summer months particularly, when the weather is good, it looks stunning.
