The special stamps are intended to boost the on-going campaign of the Department of Tourism to awaken international interest on the various sights, sounds, and destinations that the Philippines has to offer.
The Postmaster General has been stated that a total of 39.850 such stamps will be circulated, and that they are printed by Amstar Inc. using imported watermark-free paper. Each of these attractive and very collectible stamps will be sold at PHP 10, and will be an opportunity for philatelists – rookie and experienced – to get their hands on a rare, limited edition stamp.
The colourful stamp will feature the official “Visit Philippines 2015” logo, the words “Visit the Philippines year” on the upper strip above the logo, and the country identifier “PILIPINAS” and the value “P10” in the lower strip below the logo. The stamp will measure 25mm in width by 50mm in height, and will consist of the colours dark Blue, cyan, yellow, red, white, and green.
PHLPost has stated that the stamps are also a part of a campaign to promote the Philippine Tourism slogan “It’s more fun in the Philippines”. It further stated that the country is famous for many activities – diving, trekking, scenic spots etc. – and that there is something in the country for everyone, whether it is festivities, culture, adventure, or just relaxation they are after.
The stamp will be issued to the public on 25March 2015, and will be available at all PHLPost post shops.
